Forgetting the Past

Lighthouse Daily Devotional Wednesday, 10th September, 2025 Topic: Forgetting the Past Text: Philippians 3:13 "Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before" Several of us didn't have any perfect past before meeting Christ. The truth is that no matter how good or bad our past life was before Christ, it is nothing to be compared to the surpassing glory we have now in Christ Jesus. "For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth" 2 Corinthians 3:10 It is important that we recognize and acknowledge that the past has passed. Topic: You Shall Have Whatever You Say

Text: Mark 11:23

Many of us get upset when people say hurtful things to us, yet we often fail to guard our own words about ourselves and our circumstances. We forget that our words are powerful—they shape our reality.

While teaching His disciples about faith, Jesus emphasized a crucial principle: the power of words and confessions in the faith walk.

The size of your mountain is not the real problem; the issue lies in the words you speak to the mountain. Your faith-filled words have the power to move any obstacle in your path. But you must learn to channel your words effectively.

Jesus assured His disciples that they would have whatever they say. This is a fundamental principle of faith—we experience what we declare. If you constantly say you are sick, you reinforce sickness. If you confess that you are broke, you shape your financial reality.

Could it be that what you are experiencing right now is a result of what you have been saying?

The good news is that you can change the course of your life. A shift in your words can bring a shift in your reality. Let your words be aligned with the truth of God's Word. Let the redeemed of the Lord speak only what the Lord has declared concerning them.

As David said:

"I will declare the decree of the Lord." (Psalm 2:7)

What are you declaring today?

Action Plan:

Open your mouth and speak words of faith over your situation. Redirect your life’s course by confessing what you desire to see.

Have a blessed day!
