The Wealthy Place (Part 2)
Lighthouse Daily Devotional
March 27, 2025
Topic: The Wealthy Place (Part 2)
Text: Deuteronomy 8:18
"But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day."
God desires His children to walk in and possess kingdom wealth. However, this wealth is not for selfish desires, personal ambition, or showmanship. It is meant for kingdom influence and service.
God grants wealth to His children on a covenant basis. He does this to fulfill the Abrahamic covenant, which remains confirmed in Christ. This is a reality and a right for every believer. God wants you to experience kingdom wealth, not lack. There is no glory in being in debt. He wants you to have enough to take care of yourself and be a blessing to those around you.
Deuteronomy 28:12
"The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow."
God gives you wealth for His divine purposes. True kingdom wealth honors God as its source and is accompanied by righteousness and godliness.
Unfortunately, many believers struggle to accept that prosperity is part of God's plan for them. Yet, Scripture makes it clear that God desires for His children to have enough for themselves and still have enough to bless others. You must believe in God's plan for your prosperity.
However, remember that wealth does not come instantly as physical possessions. Instead, God gives the power—the ability and ideas—to generate wealth. Do not despise the gifts, abilities, and ideas He places in your heart. If nurtured and developed, they can usher in unprecedented blessings from above.
One of the greatest challenges among Christians is neglecting or underestimating the divine abilities and ideas they receive. Some feel their ideas are too "worldly" and fail to develop them, while others do not put in the required diligence and excellence to refine them. As a result, they miss out on God's wealthy place for them. Meanwhile, unbelievers may grasp a small part of these ideas and turn them into great wealth.
Wealth is not a sin. The great patriarchs of the Bible were wealthy men in their generations. God grants wealth to His people for His purpose and glory. It is the love of money—not money itself—that corrupts God's idea of wealth. Our love for God must always remain greater than our love for any material blessing He gives us.
The wealth God is bringing to His church in these last days is beyond human imagination. As Scripture says, “Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him” (1 Corinthians 2:9). However, this wealth will only be entrusted to those who truly love Him.
Action Plan:
Recognize that God has given you the power—abilities and ideas—to create wealth. Do not despise them. Instead, develop and use them for His glory. Above all, love God more than anything He blesses you with.
Prayer Point:
Lord, help me recognize the gifts and abilities You have placed within me that can usher in kingdom wealth. Teach me to love You above all things, always.
Do have a prosperous day!
