Forgetting the Past

Lighthouse Daily Devotional Wednesday, 10th September, 2025 Topic: Forgetting the Past Text: Philippians 3:13 "Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before" Several of us didn't have any perfect past before meeting Christ. The truth is that no matter how good or bad our past life was before Christ, it is nothing to be compared to the surpassing glory we have now in Christ Jesus. "For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth" 2 Corinthians 3:10 It is important that we recognize and acknowledge that the past has passed. It is no longer in existence. God has moved you beyond that experience. He has brought into a whole new experience in Christ Jesus. You can't walk in the fullness of this new life if you don't let go of the old. There is no one who drives a car forward look...

Topic: Keys to the Wealthy Place – Obedience

Text: Deuteronomy 8:1

"All the commandments which I command thee this day shall ye observe to do, that ye may live, and multiply, and go in and possess the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers."

God has a wealthy place prepared for every one of His sons and daughters. He desires to bring us into a place of rest, fruitfulness, purpose, fulfillment, and flourishing. Our wealthy place is our divinely ordained position in Christ Jesus—a place where we prosper effortlessly by the hand of God.

However, entering this wealthy place comes with certain demands. Nothing of value comes without a price. Even Jesus Christ, before receiving a name above every name, had to make sacrifices that led to His exaltation.

Philippians 2:8-9

"And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name."

One of the primary keys to stepping into our wealthy place is obedience to God and His instructions. Before God uses a person, He first brings His word, instructions, and counsel to them. How we respond to God's word determines whether we will see its fulfillment in our lives.

Many believers have written down promises from God in their journals but see no manifestation of them. The missing factor is often obedience. God does not work with the disobedient.

1 Samuel 15:26

"And Samuel said unto Saul, I will not return with thee: for thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, and the LORD hath rejected thee from being king over Israel."

Disobedience has robbed many of their place in God. Some have great destinies but lack fulfillment because they refused to obey divine instructions. They may appear honorable before men but are without true honor from God.

How have you responded to God’s instructions? Have you become so self-reliant that you believe you can enter into God’s plan by your own efforts?

Our destinies are at the mercy of our obedience to God. From God’s perspective, His promises to us are already settled in heaven. However, our response on earth determines their fulfillment.

Are you still taking obedience lightly? It’s time to rise from the place where disobedience has kept you. Stop wandering through life. Return to God. Repent, and He will restore you.

Action Plan:

Repent before God. Ask Him for another chance to walk in obedience.

Prayer Point:

"Father, show me mercy for all my acts of disobedience. Give me another chance and restore me again."

May you find your way back to God’s purpose for your life.

Enjoy God’s grace in all you do today.
