Forgetting the Past

Lighthouse Daily Devotional Wednesday, 10th September, 2025 Topic: Forgetting the Past Text: Philippians 3:13 "Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before" Several of us didn't have any perfect past before meeting Christ. The truth is that no matter how good or bad our past life was before Christ, it is nothing to be compared to the surpassing glory we have now in Christ Jesus. "For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth" 2 Corinthians 3:10 It is important that we recognize and acknowledge that the past has passed. It is no longer in existence. God has moved you beyond that experience. He has brought into a whole new experience in Christ Jesus. Topic: Hunger is a Blessing

Text: Matthew 5:6, Isaiah 55:1-3

Hunger and thirst are essential currencies for obtaining heavenly resources. You might not have material wealth, but if you have spiritual hunger, you possess something valuable before God. Hunger and thirst hold great significance in His eyes, and He never fails to respond to genuine longing for Him.

Hunger is a sign of life. When your physical hunger fades, it indicates weakness; the same is true spiritually. A deep hunger for the things of God is evidence of spiritual vitality.

What are you thirsty for? What do you desire from God? Perhaps the reason we haven't experienced more of Him is the absence of genuine and palpable hunger.

If God were to examine our hearts today, what hunger would He find there? Would it be for earthly things or for the things of His kingdom?

Hunger is a spiritual currency—it compels a person to seek God, and it draws God to that person. When we lack hunger, seeking Him feels like a burden. But when we are truly hungry, pursuing God becomes a joy and a source of motivation.

Let us ask God to stir in us a fresh and genuine hunger for Him. When He does, Bible study will become exciting, and prayer meetings will be the places we long to be the most.

The promise of God is sure: every sincere hunger will be satisfied.

Prayer Point: Lord, revive my hunger for Your presence, Your Word, and the fire of prayer.

Have a victorious day in Jesus' name!
