Forgetting the Past

Lighthouse Daily Devotional Wednesday, 10th September, 2025 Topic: Forgetting the Past Text: Philippians 3:13 "Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before" Several of us didn't have any perfect past before meeting Christ. The truth is that no matter how good or bad our past life was before Christ, it is nothing to be compared to the surpassing glory we have now in Christ Jesus. "For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth" 2 Corinthians 3:10 It is important that we recognize and acknowledge that the past has passed. It is no longer in existence. God has moved you beyond that experience. He has brought into a whole new experience in Christ Jesus. You can't walk in the fullness of this new life if you don't let go of the old. There is no one who drives a car forward look...

Topic: God's Commitment to You

Bible Text: Ezekiel 36:24-30

Your salvation was never your idea first—it was God's. Even before the foundation of the world, He saw you, foresaw the fall of Adam, and made provisions for your redemption (1 Peter 1:18-20).

All throughout the Old Testament, we see God's unwavering commitment to finding you, delivering you from the power of Satan, and setting you completely free from the bondage of sin.

God made these promises because He loves you. In our Bible text, notice how often He says, "I will..." If He has declared it, then you can be fully assured that He will fulfill it. Rest in this truth: God will deliver, save, sanctify, restore, and bless you—this is His commitment to you.

Your response should be one of gratitude. Stop striving in your own strength. Instead, embrace what God has done for you in Christ and rejoice in what He is currently doing in you through the power of His Spirit.

Action Plan

Praise God for His commitments to you as revealed in Scripture, and thank Him for making His promises a reality in your life.
