Forgetting the Past

Lighthouse Daily Devotional Wednesday, 10th September, 2025 Topic: Forgetting the Past Text: Philippians 3:13 "Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before" Several of us didn't have any perfect past before meeting Christ. The truth is that no matter how good or bad our past life was before Christ, it is nothing to be compared to the surpassing glory we have now in Christ Jesus. "For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth" 2 Corinthians 3:10 It is important that we recognize and acknowledge that the past has passed. It is no longer in existence. God has moved you beyond that experience. He has brought into a whole new experience in Christ Jesus. You can't walk in the fullness of this new life if you don't let go of the old. There is no one who drives a car forward look...

Run to Win

Topic: Run to Win
Text: 1 Corinthians 9: 24

"Surely you know that many runners take part in a race, but only one of them wins the prize. Run, then, in such a way as to win the prize."

Many are ignorant that life is a race. In fact, every aspect of life represents an aspect of this race. Life is a race that has runners and winners. How you engage with this race, determines which side you will be on when it is all over.

The first word that I will love you to pay attention to is RUN. God expects you to actively and passionately engage yourself in the fulfillment of your destiny. You're not meant to idle along and expect a Messiah to rescue you. No! Stand up from your docility and run! Run towards your God-given destiny.

Run means to pursue. It doesn't matter the wasted years and opportunities. God still wants you to pursue those seemingly dead dreams and goals. It doesn't matter the failures that you must have experienced so far on this journey and assignment. God wants you to dust yourself, get on your feet and RUN towards God's plan for you. God won't run for you. He will give you grace, but your part is to run.

Get up and apply for that job or scholarship. Go for that event. Read that book. Enrol in that course and finish it. Make that phone call. Take the bold step to organize that event virtual or physical. Go back to school if it is a necessary part of the race. Just be in motion! Even when you trip and fall, get up and continue running towards the vision.

God wants you to RUN to WIN. You need to have the winners' mindset. The mindset of winners include a clear goal, discipline and determination to pay the price for your success. Winners do not accept anything but success. They're not running because they want to be in the race. They're running to WIN.

Can you be introspective a bit for some minutes right now? Do you see yourself winning at the end of it all? Are you just participating in life without any goal to win? God wants you to have the vision that you will win all these battles at the end. Run to win! Don't run to just participate in the race or to join the crowd. Change your perceptive. See yourself as one who will win at the end. See yourself among the winners.

See that you will succeed in that business and be among the billionaires. See that you will excel in your academics and be among the reputable scholars in your field. See that your marriage will not fail. See that your health will not break down. See yourself as a winner.

Finally, check how you are running. The way you're living right now is that how winners live. Are your actions and attitudes positioning you for greatness or failure? What you spend your time daily on are they essential in releasing the greatness inside of you? Ponder on these questions and make the necessary changes for your victory.

Action Point: Don't idle along life. Get up and run well in the direction of God's plan for you.

Prayer point: Lord, I receive Grace to run and become a victor in Jesus name. Amen.

Do a blessed day.
