Forgetting the Past

Lighthouse Daily Devotional Wednesday, 10th September, 2025 Topic: Forgetting the Past Text: Philippians 3:13 "Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before" Several of us didn't have any perfect past before meeting Christ. The truth is that no matter how good or bad our past life was before Christ, it is nothing to be compared to the surpassing glory we have now in Christ Jesus. "For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth" 2 Corinthians 3:10 It is important that we recognize and acknowledge that the past has passed. It is no longer in existence. God has moved you beyond that experience. He has brought into a whole new experience in Christ Jesus. You can't walk in the fullness of this new life if you don't let go of the old. There is no one who drives a car forward look...

Be Still

 Lighthouse Daily Devotional

28th August, 2025
Topic: Be Still
Text: Psalms 46:10

"Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth."

There are situations that come to unsettle you. They literally throw you into a state of confusion and fear. You begin to doubt the goodness and faithfulness of God. At such time, the promises of God seem far-fetched and unrealistic.

It is in such seasons that God will like you to learn the power of stillness. The power of God is activated when we learn how to be still before the Lord in the moment of crisis.

Stillness doesn't mean that you will stop praying, praising and acting on your faith. It is a state of rest and trust in God. It is a place of certain assurance that what the enemy meant for evil, God will turn it around for your good. It is being peaceful in the time of storms. It is resting in the everlasting arms of God.

There is a rare knowledge that comes to the trusting heart that is alien to a troubled and anxious heart. God is known in stillness, when our heart expresses trust in Him. We come into a revelation of His Majesty and Power that assures our hearts of the victory ahead.

What has your struggles and anxiousness achieved so far in that situation? Don't you think it is robbing you from encountering and experiencing the saving power of God?

God's instruction to you today is to be still and know that He is God. Yes, the storm is boisterous and turbulent. Yet, do not let fear dominate your heart. Rest in the faithfulness of God. For the Egyptian you see today, you see them no more. So STAND STILL and SEE the salvation of the Lord.

Amen.

Action Point: Express your faith God by praising him in the middle of the storm.

Prayer point: Lord, I praise you because I am assured of your love and faithfulness towards me and my family.

Have a blessed day.
