Forgetting the Past

Lighthouse Daily Devotional Wednesday, 10th September, 2025 Topic: Forgetting the Past Text: Philippians 3:13 "Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before" Several of us didn't have any perfect past before meeting Christ. The truth is that no matter how good or bad our past life was before Christ, it is nothing to be compared to the surpassing glory we have now in Christ Jesus. "For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth" 2 Corinthians 3:10 It is important that we recognize and acknowledge that the past has passed. It is no longer in existence. God has moved you beyond that experience. He has brought into a whole new experience in Christ Jesus. You can't walk in the fullness of this new life if you don't let go of the old. There is no one who drives a car forward look...

Go Forward

Topic: Go Forward
Text: Exodus 14:15 KJV

"And the LORD said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward"

The above statement was God's answer to Moses when Pharaoh and his chariots of warriors were chasing hard after the Israelites and the red sea was before them too. This is a typical situation of being caught between the devil and the deep blue sea. Each option has its own negative consequence, yet it is in the midst of that crisis that God said that they should move forward.

Perhaps, Moses and the children of Israel must have been thinking about returning back to Egypt than getting drowned in the red sea at that moment. It would have been a better option to return to the bullies of Egypt than getting drowned in the sea full of dreadful sharks. How much can you swim to get over to the other side with the women and children?

In our moment of crisis and confusion, it is important to listen to the voice of God than the voice of our flesh. The flesh will always align with the voice of the enemy. It will always go for what will please men than what will please God. If you follow the voice of your flesh, you will miss God.

"But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men."
Matthew 16:23 KJV

The opinions of men are always based on the natural things that they see. If you follow it, you will miss God. God's voice follows the frequency of faith. It takes faith to hear God and faith to follow Him.

Go forward means keep walking towards that challenge or obstacle. Don't turn back from it. David didn't run away from Goliath when the battle line was drawn. He ran towards him.

"And it came to pass, when the Philistine arose, and came and drew nigh to meet David, that David hasted, and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine."
1 Samuel 17:48 KJV

I challenge you today not to give up or turn back because of how enormous the challenge is.  Go forward because the power of God has gone ahead of you to give you victory.

Yes, the task might look seemingly impossible but with God nothing is impossible. God is going to help you right early.  Just obey Him and keep walking in the light of His instructions to you. As you obey God, you will see His miraculous power move in to turn things around for your good.

So dearly beloved, don't turn back. Do not give up. Don't lose faith. God is with you and will give you victory. All you need to do is to keep moving forward.

Action Point: Keep moving forward in pursuit of your God given callings and goals.

Prayer Point: My faith is strengthened to move forward in Jesus name. I won't let fear force me to turn back
