Lighthouse Daily Devotional Wednesday, 10th September, 2025 Topic: Forgetting the Past Text: Philippians 3:13 "Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before" Several of us didn't have any perfect past before meeting Christ. The truth is that no matter how good or bad our past life was before Christ, it is nothing to be compared to the surpassing glory we have now in Christ Jesus. "For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth" 2 Corinthians 3:10 It is important that we recognize and acknowledge that the past has passed. It is no longer in existence. God has moved you beyond that experience. He has brought into a whole new experience in Christ Jesus. You can't walk in the fullness of this new life if you don't let go of the old. There is no one who drives a car forward look...

Don't Give Up!

Topic: Don't Give Up
Text: 2 Corinthians 4:1(ERV)
"God, with his mercy, gave us this work to do, so we don’t give up"

Challenges are not always signs of being outside the will of God. Sometimes, they're proofs that you are in the will of God. In fact, the absence of a challenge can mean you're on a wrong path. If your life and goals receives no contention from hell, it could be because you're indirectly aiding the works of darkness. Satan won't oppose his own plans. He opposes anything that promotes the kingdom of God.

Every genuine work from God will receive direct confrontation from the enemy. All the genuine prophets of old faced opposition from the powers of darkness either to discourage them or stop them from continuing with their assignments.

"We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed"
2 Corinthians 4:8-9 (KJV)

Despite all the challenges that we face on our path to fulfilling our divine destinies, God instruct us not to give up or lose heart. Satan can try to dissuade or discourage you but he can't stop you except you choose to stop. And God doesn't expect you to stop. He wants you to keep walking till you get into your victory.

There is a glory ahead of you. The cross is just the bridge to it. Like Christ, you must endure the cross and despise the shame.

"...who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God."
Hebrews 12:2 (KJV)

So don't give up because you are facing some challenges on your way. The challenges are part of the story that you will tell someday. If there are no challenges, how will the power of God be displayed. God raised pharaoh (a seeming challenge to the freedom of the Israelites) to display His power through him. That situation you're in now is not unto death but for the glory of God to be revealed.

"When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby."
John 11:4 KJV

So dearly beloved, do not lose heart. I want you to step into this new month with a determination to see the end of that challenge by the power of God. It won't see your end in Jesus name. Amen.

Prayer point: Lord, by your power let every challenge on my path to fulfilling my destiny be destroyed right now.  Amen.
