Forgetting the Past

Lighthouse Daily Devotional Wednesday, 10th September, 2025 Topic: Forgetting the Past Text: Philippians 3:13 "Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before" Several of us didn't have any perfect past before meeting Christ. The truth is that no matter how good or bad our past life was before Christ, it is nothing to be compared to the surpassing glory we have now in Christ Jesus. "For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth" 2 Corinthians 3:10 It is important that we recognize and acknowledge that the past has passed. It is no longer in existence. God has moved you beyond that experience. He has brought into a whole new experience in Christ Jesus. You can't walk in the fullness of this new life if you don't let go of the old. There is no one who drives a car forward look...

Throne of Grace

Lighthouse Daily Devotional

5th April, 2025

Topic: Throne of Grace

Text: Hebrews 4:16 (KJV)

"Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need."

What God has established in Christ Jesus is not a throne of judgment, where fire and brimstone rain down on the sinner. God is not looking to destroy the sinner; He desires to show them mercy and grace. Our Lord Jesus has a ministry dedicated to saving sinners.

Luke 19:10 (KJV):

"For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost."

Jesus began this work while He was on earth and continues it from heaven, through us. We are the envoys of God's grace.

There is a place where broken lives are restored, where sinners are saved, where the backslider is brought back, where sin is pardoned and forgiven. There is a place where mercy and grace flow endlessly for the hungry soul. It is at the throne of grace, where Jesus, our faithful High Priest, sits on our behalf.

Sometimes, the challenges of life knock us down, and Satan's arrows pierce us deeply. But we do not have to stay down or wounded forever. God has provided a place where the fallen are raised by grace, and the wounded are marvelously healed.

Satan's ancient deception is to accuse and plague you with guilt, hoping to keep you from coming back to God. He prefers that you hide behind fig leaves (false comforts) that wither with time, rather than come to God.

You may have made the same mistake countless times. Yes, God is not pleased with that behavior, but can you return to Him? Don't grow weary of coming back. Keep coming. He has enough grace to heal you and make you whole.

Yes, you may be plagued with guilt, but God says, "Come boldly." It is not because you earned it by your works, but because our Advocate, Jesus Christ, sits on the throne of grace.

But should you keep coming to God while constantly returning to sin? No. You must not continue in sin so that grace may abound. The grace that God offers helps you in your time of need. God's grace empowers you to overcome sin. It is God's grace that gives you victory. It is through His grace that you are freed from sin and the control of Satan.

Action Plan:

Receive the grace of God, which grants mercy for your sins and helps you overcome them.

Prayer Point:

I receive mercy and grace to help me live for God.

Happy weekend, and may God bless you.
