Forgetting the Past

Lighthouse Daily Devotional Wednesday, 10th September, 2025 Topic: Forgetting the Past Text: Philippians 3:13 "Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before" Several of us didn't have any perfect past before meeting Christ. The truth is that no matter how good or bad our past life was before Christ, it is nothing to be compared to the surpassing glory we have now in Christ Jesus. "For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth" 2 Corinthians 3:10 It is important that we recognize and acknowledge that the past has passed. It is no longer in existence. God has moved you beyond that experience. He has brought into a whole new experience in Christ Jesus. You can't walk in the fullness of this new life if you don't let go of the old. There is no one who drives a car forward look...

Knowing His Exceeding Great Power

 Lighthouse Daily Devotional

Topic: Knowing His Exceeding Great Power

Text: Ephesians 1:19
“And what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power.”

In Christ, God has made the believer the dwelling place of His power. On the day the Holy Ghost came, God moved the headquarters of His power from above into man on earth.

Unfortunately, many believers still expect the power of God to come down from heaven. As religious as that may sound, it won’t happen that way anymore—because when the Holy Ghost came, all of God moved into man.

We carry within us the power to live victoriously over sin, Satan, the world, and life’s challenges. That’s why when Apostle Paul prayed for the church in Ephesus, he asked that God would open their eyes to see the power residing within them. He prayed that they would understand how exceedingly great God's power is at work in those who believe.

Praying for God’s power to come down may sound spiritual and appealing, and sometimes we may even witness manifestations that seem to justify that belief. But the truth remains: God's power resides within you. In fact, what God will do through you depends on the measure of His power actively working in you.

Ephesians 3:20
“Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.”

Yes, the manifestation of this power comes in measures—it flows according to the measure that has been given and revealed to us.

So henceforth, a more effective way to pray would be: “Lord, reveal to me the power that is at work within me. Help me to know it and walk in it. Open me up to the fullness of the power You have placed inside me.”

Action Plan: Acknowledge and activate the power of God that works in you.

Prayer Point: Lord, open my eyes to see the exceeding greatness of Your power at work in me.
