Forgetting the Past

Lighthouse Daily Devotional Wednesday, 10th September, 2025 Topic: Forgetting the Past Text: Philippians 3:13 "Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before" Several of us didn't have any perfect past before meeting Christ. The truth is that no matter how good or bad our past life was before Christ, it is nothing to be compared to the surpassing glory we have now in Christ Jesus. "For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth" 2 Corinthians 3:10 It is important that we recognize and acknowledge that the past has passed. It is no longer in existence. God has moved you beyond that experience. He has brought into a whole new experience in Christ Jesus. You can't walk in the fullness of this new life if you don't let go of the old. There is no one who drives a car forward look...

Grace through Faith

Topic: Grace through Faith

Text: Ephesians 2:8 (NIV)

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God."

Salvation comes from the Greek word soteria, which encompasses deliverance, healing, forgiveness of sin, protection, preservation, and prosperity. God has made this provision available to all—by grace, through faith. The riches of Christ are accessible to anyone who believes the Gospel.

"Who has believed our message? To whom will the LORD reveal his saving power?"

 Isaiah 53:1 (NLT)

Faith is the key that unlocks God's storehouse, allowing us to receive all He has promised in Christ. We do not receive because of our own goodness or personal achievements, but because of God's grace when we believe the Gospel.

This leads to an important question: What is faith?

Faith is the assurance and trust in what God has spoken and revealed through His Word. True faith holds onto God's promises as the ultimate reality, despite circumstances that may suggest otherwise.

Faith enables us to receive from God. A doubtful person wavers concerning God's promises—believing today but doubting when challenges arise.

We must not be like that. Instead, we should learn to rely fully on God's Word. Doubt never brings solutions; it only robs us of experiencing the fullness of God's saving grace.

God is able to forgive, save, deliver, restore, preserve, and prosper. He does this because He loves you and considers you the apple of His eye. His blessings are not based on our perfection but on His grace.

When we try to qualify for God's blessings through our own works, we step out of faith and into the realm of the flesh. But the flesh can never please God. Under the new covenant, our covering is the blood of Jesus Christ, graciously shed for us on the cross.

It is through His blood that we have bold access to the Holy of Holies—to God's very presence—where we can receive His abundant grace.

"Therefore, brothers and sisters, we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus."

Hebrews 10:19 (NIV)

So even when you don't feel worthy to come to God, come anyway. Your access to His presence is not based on your feelings or works but on the blood of Jesus. That is your qualification—today and always.

Action Plan:

Come boldly into God's presence, knowing that the blood of Jesus has qualified you.

Prayer Point:

Father, thank You for the blood of Jesus. I receive all that You have for me by grace through faith.

Have a blessed day! Go and win today by His grace!
