Forgetting the Past

Lighthouse Daily Devotional Wednesday, 10th September, 2025 Topic: Forgetting the Past Text: Philippians 3:13 "Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before" Several of us didn't have any perfect past before meeting Christ. The truth is that no matter how good or bad our past life was before Christ, it is nothing to be compared to the surpassing glory we have now in Christ Jesus. "For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth" 2 Corinthians 3:10 It is important that we recognize and acknowledge that the past has passed. It is no longer in existence. God has moved you beyond that experience. He has brought into a whole new experience in Christ Jesus. You can't walk in the fullness of this new life if you don't let go of the old. There is no one who drives a car forward look...

Choose Life!

 Lighthouse Daily Devotional

6th April, 2025

Topic: Choose Life!
Text: Deuteronomy 30:19

"I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live."

Our lives today are the result of the choices we made yesterday. We are the sum total of our decisions. The choices we make today determine the direction of our destiny tomorrow.

Many people complain about their current situations as though they were forced upon them by some external force—without their own involvement. But they often fail to recognize how their actions or inactions contributed to where they are now. There is nothing in your life today that you didn’t in some way permit or participate in.

God has designed the earth to operate by laws. Our daily choices activate these laws—either in our favor or to our detriment. One key law is this: our actions are seeds that will inevitably produce a harvest.

Genesis 8:22
"While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease."

What seeds are you sowing through your daily choices? Would you be pleased with the harvest they bring?

The state of your health, finances, spiritual life, marriage, business, and career today reflects the choices you’ve made in the past.

Every day, we make choices. And every choice has a consequence. We have the power to choose, but we don’t get to choose the consequences—they are natural results of our decisions.

If you want to change the outcome of your life, you must change the choices you're making daily. Even choosing not to decide is itself a choice—with its own consequences.

Our choices are shaped by our deepest beliefs and values. When we hold wrong beliefs and values, we make wrong choices. But when our beliefs and values align with truth, we make choices that lead to life. So, what are your beliefs and values? Wrong values produce faulty principles, and faulty principles lead to wrong actions.

We must make well-informed choices. The right information shapes our beliefs and values, which in turn shape our decisions. The information you consume every day is shaping your values, beliefs, and ultimately your life.

Stop complaining about your circumstances. Take time to reevaluate your choices. Ask yourself whether they align with the outcome you desire. If they don’t—change your choices. And when you do, your life outcomes will begin to change as well.

Every day you wake up, make a conscious decision: Choose the ways of God. Choose to follow Him. Choose the Spirit over the flesh. Choose to be the best version of yourself, and give your best in pursuit of your God-given vision. Choose Life!

Action Plan: Choose Life! God is your life.

Prayer Point: Lord, please deliver me from the consequences of my wrong choices. Help me to make right choices from this day forward.

Happy Sunday!
