Forgetting the Past

Lighthouse Daily Devotional Wednesday, 10th September, 2025 Topic: Forgetting the Past Text: Philippians 3:13 "Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before" Several of us didn't have any perfect past before meeting Christ. The truth is that no matter how good or bad our past life was before Christ, it is nothing to be compared to the surpassing glory we have now in Christ Jesus. "For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth" 2 Corinthians 3:10 It is important that we recognize and acknowledge that the past has passed. It is no longer in existence. God has moved you beyond that experience. He has brought into a whole new experience in Christ Jesus. You can't walk in the fullness of this new life if you don't let go of the old. There is no one who drives a car forward look...

A Wise Heart

Lighthouse Daily Devotional
26th April, 2025
Topic: A Wise Heart

Text: Psalm 90:12
"So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom."

Every greatness you see today is built through wisdom.

Proverbs 24:3 (KJV)
"Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established."

Our constant prayer should be: "Lord, help me to gain a wise heart that I may deal prudently in life."

The Bible declares that wisdom is the principal thing—meaning it is the most essential commodity you can ever acquire in life. So ask yourself: Do I have wisdom? Do I act wisely? Am I living wisely or foolishly?

Scripture makes it clear: every house is built through wisdom. If wisdom builds, then foolishness destroys. When you act wisely, you're building your life. But when you act foolishly, you are tearing it down with your own hands.

Everything in life—ministry, career, business, family, relationships—is built by three things: wisdom, understanding, and knowledge.

Proverbs 24:3-4 (KJV)
"Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established: And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches."

Notice that wisdom comes first.

The Bible says if you lack wisdom, get it. Pay the price to acquire it. While we may not all start with a wise heart, we can gain one if we are determined.

Wisdom can be defined as the divine, natural, practical, and time-proven truth upon which life is based. It is acquired through study, association, and experience. There is laid-down wisdom for every area of life. Discover your path and pursue the wisdom necessary for success and greatness in that area—and once you find it, live by it.

There is wisdom for good health.
There is wisdom for academic success.
There is wisdom for marital success.
There is wisdom for financial breakthrough.
There is wisdom for ministerial growth.

Without wisdom, there is very little you can achieve in life. Wisdom is not always popular—but it is time-tested. Don’t chase what’s trending; chase what is timeless.

Ultimately, wisdom comes from God.
Every form of true wisdom is laid down by God. It begins with knowing Him and honouring His ways.

Action Plan:
Reconcile with God. True wisdom starts with Him. Choose to live by the wisdom of God's Word in every area of your life. Don’t follow what’s popular or pleasurable—live by what is time-proven

Prayer Point:
Lord, give me a wise heart.

Happy weekend!
