The truth is that no matter how good or bad our past life was before Christ, it is nothing to be compared to the surpassing glory we have now in Christ Jesus. "For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth" 2 Corinthians 3:10 It is important that we recognize and acknowledge that the past has passed. It is no longer in existence. God has moved you beyond that experience. He has brought into a whole new experience in Christ Jesus. Topic: Keys to the Wealthy Place: The Heart Test

Bible Text: Jeremiah 17:10

"I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings."

Nothing reveals the true nature of a man more than his heart. God is never deceived by the flattery of men or their outwardly pious actions. He searches the hearts of men because He knows that the motives behind their deeds for the Kingdom lie within their hearts.

What is the state of your heart before God? What inspires your devotion to Him? What are your motives for serving God? Are you doing it for the approval and praise of men, or because you truly love God? Do you follow the Lord because you desire comfort and earthly blessings in return? Would you still love Him if He took everything away?

Even though we may deceive others, we can never deceive God. The Scriptures tell us that everything is laid bare before Him:

Hebrews 4:13

"Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in His sight: but all things are naked and open unto the eyes of Him with whom we have to do."

There is nothing you can hide from God.

The journey to your wealthy place will lead you through situations that will expose the true motives of your heart. God deals with the heart first because it is from the heart that all of life, actions, desires, and pursuits flow.

Proverbs 4:23

"Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life."

God can help your heart if you allow Him to. You must lay your heart open before Him. Do not hide your true state or motives. Be honest before God. Ask Him to search your heart and cleanse anything that is not in alignment with His will.

When your heart is right before God, your actions will align with His will, and you will be acceptable before Him.

Action Plan: Surrender your heart to the Lord. Ask Him to search your heart and lead you in His everlasting way.

Psalms 139:23-24

"Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting."

Prayer Point: Search my heart, O Lord. Lead me in Your way everlasting.
