Forgetting the Past

Lighthouse Daily Devotional Wednesday, 10th September, 2025 Topic: Forgetting the Past Text: Philippians 3:13 "Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before" Several of us didn't have any perfect past before meeting Christ. The truth is that no matter how good or bad our past life was before Christ, it is nothing to be compared to the surpassing glory we have now in Christ Jesus. "For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth" 2 Corinthians 3:10 It is important that we recognize and acknowledge that the past has passed. It is no longer in existence. God has moved you beyond that experience. He has brought into a whole new experience in Christ Jesus. You can't walk in the fullness of this new life if you don't let go of the old. There is no one who drives a car forward look...

Disentangle Yourself for Holy Use

Topic: Disentangle Yourself for Holy Use

Text: 2 Timothy 2:4

The Bible describes believers in many ways. We are called sons of God, kings, priests, saints, and more. Each of these names highlights a different aspect of the believer’s life.

One title that reveals the militant nature of the Christian walk is soldier of Christ. When we are born again, we are enlisted into God’s army. Our mission is to fight on God’s side against the forces of darkness that seek to destroy lives. We are called to pull down strongholds and bring deliverance to those around us. But are we truly engaged in this battle, or have we become part of the problem?

Sadly, not all believers actively serve in God’s army. Many remain entangled in _civilian affairs_—the pursuits and lifestyles of those who do not know Christ. These distractions hinder us from fulfilling our divine assignment.

To serve effectively in God’s army, we must break free from every sinful entanglement. As soldiers of Christ, we should not be found indulging in the lifestyle of unbelievers. If you find yourself trapped in worldly pursuits, cry out to God for deliverance. Ask Him to set you free so that you can serve Him in a way that pleases Him.

Prayer Points:

Lord, please deliver me from every sinful and worldly entanglement. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Action Plan:

Identify areas in your life where sin has entangled you and take deliberate steps to break free from its hold.

Do have a grace-filled day.
