Forgetting the Past

Lighthouse Daily Devotional Wednesday, 10th September, 2025 Topic: Forgetting the Past Text: Philippians 3:13 "Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before" Several of us didn't have any perfect past before meeting Christ. The truth is that no matter how good or bad our past life was before Christ, it is nothing to be compared to the surpassing glory we have now in Christ Jesus. "For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth" 2 Corinthians 3:10 It is important that we recognize and acknowledge that the past has passed. It is no longer in existence. God has moved you beyond that experience. He has brought into a whole new experience in Christ Jesus. You can't walk in the fullness of this new life if you don't let go of the old. There is no one who drives a car forward look...

Topic: Christ is Our Life

Text: Colossians 3:4

"When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory."

One of the greatest mistakes many Christians make is dividing the life we have received from God into different categories—spiritual life, social life, academic life, career life, and so on. This mindset has led many believers to behave one way in church and another way at work, thinking they must live differently in various settings.

However, as believers in Christ, we do not have two kinds of life. Our old life has ended—the life enslaved to sin and self-will is dead. We have only one life to live: the Christ Life.

Christ is now our life. He is to be manifested in everything we do—at home, work, school, the marketplace, social events, and beyond. We carry only the life of Jesus wherever we go. We do not confine Him to spiritual gatherings; His life is meant to be expressed in every area of our existence. The old life is gone and buried—we must walk in the light of this new life.

Receiving the life of God through the new birth experience is not enough; we must also be conscious of this life. Awareness leads to transformation, and transformation leads to manifestation.

Do not act in an ungodly manner with your friends and call it your "social life."

Do not lie or steal at your workplace and call it "work life."

Do not cheat during exams or engage in corrupt practices for good grades and call it "academic life."

God has called you to live one life—the Christ Life. Do not divide it into compartments. Be true and consistent in all you do.

Action Plan:

Renew your mindset—stop separating your life into categories. Carry the life of Jesus into everything you do and let it be seen.

Prayer Point:

Lord Jesus, live through me. Let men see Your life in me.

Your week is blessed in Jesus' name. Amen.
